The second life of our furniture

La seconde vie de nos meubles

What happens to the furniture you rent from Homat? This is a question our clients sometimes ask us. Would you like to know too?

It’s simple — here are the different possible scenarios:

  • Some are bought by our clients. At the end of a rental, we do offer the option to purchase all or part of the furniture. You just need to ask us for the price of the items you’re interested in and decide whether or not you want to keep them.
  • Others are sold on the second-hand market. After a rental period, some pieces with a few marks or minor wear are sent to specialized stores for resale.
  • And finally, many are donated to charities — something that has always made sense for Homat. Among the three associations we support is Les Restos du Cœur, with whom we have built a strong relationship, making donations for more than 20 years!

We provide regular help by donating furniture, bed linen, towels, and kitchen utensils. On November 25, their 35ᵗʰ winter food distribution campaign began. Les Restos du Cœur count 73,000 volunteers, 133.5 million meals distributed, and 900,000 people welcomed (source: https://www.restosducoeur.org/chiffres-cles/
). Bravo to them!
